Our Vendor Advice:
As in all other professions, there is a large diversity of styles, skill, talent, knowledge, and years of experience in the wedding industry. It takes all kinds to make a world, and the wedding industry is full of a diverse array of event professionals. Something cool to note is that the wedding industry is one of the only industries where creative women are paid what they deserve!
It can be really really tricky and often super confusing trying to figure out how much to budget for each vendor. There’s a lot to sort through! One thing we will stress, is that price does not equal value. Always check and make sure vendors are legitimate businesses (with legit reviews and liability insurance), because there are many fly-by-night operations out there. Happy hiring!

Let’s be real: your vendors LOVE you!
We truly want to do all we can (blood, sweat, & tears!) to make your wedding day everything you wanted and more. You CHOSE us, and we are so grateful! We don’t take your trust for granted, and we all want to work really hard to have everything run smoothly (sometimes we sprinkle in a little extra magic to set things right).
Here are some things that are honestly easy to forget when it comes to vendor etiquette.

Tipping
It is your choice whether or not you want to tip your vendors at the end of the day. How much you leave should reflect the value you feel they have provided. Most couples will enclose a tip and a note in an envelope to each vendor and give it to the coordinator to distribute. That way you won’t have to worry about it as you’re dancing the night away! As a guide, a tip of 10-15% is fairly standard. |
Meal
When finalizing your guest count with the venue, remember to include your vendors (and their assistants) in that count. You definitely don’t want hungry and tired DJs or photo/videographers missing important things because we had to sneak a snack from our bags. The standard is that most vendors eat when you eat, especially because you probably don’t want photos of you and your new spouse mid-bite! |
Spread the News
THE most important thing you can do for your vendors: leave them a review! If you had a killer time with us, we would love for you to spread the word and leave us a review on every site you can! Referrals are also essential in our industry, so sending your engaged friends our way is an amazing way to say thanks and make our day (plus, we would love to see you again as someone’s wedding guest!). |
